Our body consists of two types of nerves-the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system. The somatic nervous system is our system of voluntary nerves giving us sensation of pain, heat, and touch besides giving us the control of our muscles helping us in movement and coordination. On the other hand, the autonomic nervous system is not under our control and is responsible for our breathing rate, the beating of our heart or the production of sweat that regulates our body temperature.

The autonomic nervous system is further branched into two parts-the sympathetic and the parasympathetic systems. The production of sweat is controlled by the sympathetic nervous system.

Have you ever thought why is sweating important for our body. Well, it is required to regulate our body temperature. The secretion of sweat is governed by our Sympathetic Nervous System. But the problem is that in around one percent of our population, this machinery works over time and produces much more sweat than is necessary for body temperature regulation. This condition is termed as Hyperhidrosis which means excessive sweating.

Hyperhidrosis can actually hamper the day to day activities of a person. It could be brought out by stress, emotional upheaval, or exercise but in some cases it is automatic. So, patients with palmar hyperhidrosis find their hands wet and moist that actually creates problems in grasping anything. What is more, they find difficulty in shaking hands because that leaves the other persons hand moist. Similarly, people suffering from auxiliary hyperhidrosis sweat excessively from their underarms that stains continually. Hyperhidrosis often causes distress and embarrassment and has been proven as a socil disadvantage in employment and relationships. There is also a case of plantar hyperhidrosis which is the case of excessive sweating of the feet and results in moist socks and shoes and also feet odor.

Treatment of Hyperhidrosis with iontophoresis devices: IDROMED 4

This iontophoresis treatment with Idromed 4 involves treatment using hand and foot baths and optional arm pit pads. The body parts are put in the treatment basin which is filled with the general tap water. Through electrodes a weak DC current is passed in the water and the current is gradually increased to a certain limit and it gives a pleasant tingling sensation to the patient. What this weak current does is that it prevents sweat secretion without actually damaging the sweat glands.

In the arm pits, this current is applied through wet sponge electrodes. The water basin could easily be folded away to a storage container. When you start treatment, the affected part should be treated once a day for about ten to fifteen minutes. Usually, after ten to fifteen times, the moisture content becomes normalized and then you can use the treatment once or twice a week or when it is required.

The best thing about Idromed4, an electronic iontophoresis treatment device for hyperhidrosis, is that it has been made keeping in mind the problems that other devices come with. So, you would never get electric shocks as is common with other such devices. It is most useful and most convenient to use. The Idromed4 is the most advanced, most reliable and safest form of electronic therapy for hyperhidrosis. Given the pain and complications of surgery, Idromed 4 is extremely popular as no drugs or surgery are required.

Excessive sweating is seen in millions of people around the world. This disorder causes stress as many people in the sales field, medical and business circles rely on being cool and calm. The last thing any person wants is to have sweaty palms or a wet stain on their underarms.

The medical term for excessive sweating is hyperhidrosis. There are several causes of this condition such as obesity, menopause, psychiatric disorders, as well as with some endocrine disease treatments. Most people overcome this but can be triggered at any time especially when a person is nervous or aggravated. The excessive sweating often occurs from childhood and coninues throughout a person's life to adulthood.

Several different types of hyperhidrosis exist. One type is Facial Hyperhidrosis which is visible when seeing a person has sweat on their forehead or brow. Usually the person is the center of attention or under some sort of scrutiny such as public speaking, court or television appearance. Another type of hyperhidrosis is called Palmar Hyperhidrosis. This is more commonly known as sweaty palms. This causes many people to feel uncomfortable when in social circles whether it be friends, family or work related. Offense might be taken to avoid shaking hands or having any contact with other people for fear of rejection or ridicule. Also a common hyperhidrosis issue is underarm sweating. This is embarassing and causes the person to dress differently and avoid raising their arms. The worst part is to make sure your anti persperant is working effectively to avoid embarrassment.

But there have been breakthroughs to help with this condition. No longer will you avoid events such as weddings, social mixers and other fun outings for fear of underarm sweat showing. There is a 100% natural process available by an author who suffered with underarm sweat issues for years. The author reveals his obsessive behavior to try to cover up the underarm issues by doing things like wearing multiple undershirts, different antipersperants, multiple applications of antipersperants during the day, elevating his arms away from his shirt, and even an electric current device to try and stop his underarm sweat. He decided to finally start living his life and found a way to fix his often times stained shirts. Nothing worked but his own three step cure. Stop being miserable and learn now how to have a life and get your life back without fear of underarm staining.

Excessive Sweating Remedies - Surgical Alternatives

While there are many excessive sweating remedies available today, the surgical option should be your last resort. This article will explore some of these procedures and give you better insight into these types of treatment options.

    1. Sympathectomy

To control excessive sweating, doctors can go in and cut or remove the nerves that connect to the sweat glands. It is the nerves that send messages to the sweat glands that cause sweating to occur. By cutting off the nerves, it eliminates the ability to send messages so to speak.

Having a sympathectomy should be the last treatment choice on anyone's list. It has been done for 80 years now and it involves the nerves that lie in the back of the chest near the spinal column.

    2. Sweat Gland Removal

This is another one of many excessive sweating remedies that has been around for quite a while. It involves removing the sweat glands that are around the area causing the sweating problems.

Removing sweat glands is the most often recommended approach when other remedies fail to work. This type of surgery is meant for underarm sweating, not on the hands or feet.

This type of surgery has proven to be effective, but there can be side effects which you'll want to be aware of.

Other less commonly known procedures include:

Thorax Sympathectomy - This is a very painful surgery where the surgeon must cut open a large part of the chest and separate the rib cage in order to reach the nerves to be cut. It requires a tremendous time to heal and is not a recommended way to control excessive sweating.

Thoracoscopic Sympathectomy - This is a procedure that involves making small incisions just under the armpit area. The surgeon will insert a tiny camera into the area to find the chain of nerves, where they will then cut open the area and clip the nerve endings.

This is a costly procedure that also has its share of possible complications including the possibility of permanent nerve damage.

Surgery for excessive sweating remedies should be the last option. There are many other easier methods in treating sweating problems that you should consider first. If those fail, then look to surgery.

Are you one of those people that after brisk walking for ten minutes your shirt soaked with sweat? Do you have experiences where, without any prompting of anxiety or excessive heat, but you sweat profusely? If that is the case, you belong to the 1% of the population which suffers from excessive sweating or what is called Hyperhidrosis and you need to know how to deal with excessive sweating.

    What is Hyperhidrosis?

Before knowing how to deal with excessive sweating, you should know what is Hyperhidrosis. Simply put it as increase perspiration in situations that would normally not require such excessive amounts. Areas normally affected are the palmar or the hands and axillae or underarms.

    Hyperhidrosis: The Basics

There are two forms of Hyperhydrosis or excessive sweating. The first kind which is called Primary Hyperhidrosis is found to begin during adolescence or even before and is said to be inherited genetically. The second kind of excessive sweating or Secondary Hyperhidrosis is formed due to a disorder in either the thyroid or pituitary gland, diabetes miletus, tumours, gout, or by certain drugs. Secondary Hyperhidrosis should be noted, can form at anytime in a person’s life. With regards to the former, no exact cause can be determined.

There are theories that state that such a condition is caused by an overactive sympathetic nervous system which is in turn caused by abnormal brain function. Excessive sweating of the hands, groin, armpits, feet and face are usually the most active regions where hyperhidrosis occurs though there are cases where a more general area of the body is affected.

    Sweating by the bucket full

A common problem brought about by Hyperhidrosis is having foul odor coming off from areas where sweat is usually formed in abundance. This condition is called bromhidrosis and is caused by the breakdown of sweat by yeast and bacteria. Also, such sweat areas become white, wrinkled and cracked, or become red and inflamed. These are some of the problems that are likely to occur aside from the excessive sweat that is accumulated in the above mentioned parts of the body. Thus, it is important to know how to deal with excessive sweating to avoid bromhidrosis.

How to deal with excessive sweating

Most commercial deodorants can help you deal with excessive sweating however for areas such as the palms, groin, feet, or genital area, stronger treatment is needed. One such way is through the use of aluminum chloride solution which is available in prescription and nonprescription strengths. The solution can be applied up to twice a day though for most people, once a day should be adequate. The target needs to be first, dried and later applied with plastic film which should bring relief in as little as a week. Note that if the solution irritates the skin; opt not to use the plastic film solution.

Another method that could be used to deal with excessive sweating is through the use of methenamine solution. Some drugs are also available that can alleviate hyperhidrosis such as phenoxybenzamine and propantheline, both can be taken orally. Injections of botollinum toxin into infected areas can also help you deal with excessive sweating while a more drastic measure if the drugs are not effective is through severing the nerves leading to the sweat glands through surgery.

To deal with excessive sweating with body odor problems, cleansing with antiseptic soap in combination with antibacterial creams with clindamycin or erythromycin will garner results. Also you may look into shaving the pertinent areas as hair tends to gather bacteria and yeast, thus lessening odor accumulation.

Anxiety Sweating - The Secrets to Beat Anxiety Sweating and Appear More Confident

Would You Like To STOP Excessive Sweating Instantly??

    >>  Click Here To Know HOW You Can Stop Your Excessive Sweat

Any kind of sweating can result in a downturn in a person's morale; despite this fact, psychological negativity is most commonly associated with anxiety sweating. But what is it that makes anxiety sweating more traumatic for the sufferer than the other types of sweating? All excessive sweating, after all, is viewed with modern social distaste and the sweating itself can be an extremely bothersome burden. If this is the case, why is it that anxiety sweating is singled out as the type that is associated with the most distressing effects? Why not excessive sweating because of a health issue, or night sweating, or any other kind of excessive sweating, for that matter?

The reason is that anxiety sweating can potentially lead to cyclic anxiety sweating, an effect that is not felt by sufferers of other kinds of excessive sweating. This means that individuals who tend to sweat in large volumes during times of anxiety may find that their sweating will become more greatly manifested, which in turn can increase the already excessive sweating.

Despite this, anxiety sufferers may not always feel the distressful cyclical nature of the disorder. And although anxiety sweating is not always resultant of anxiety, it can often be the case. The social stigma of anxiety sweating may become increasingly overbearing towards the sufferers and they may find that as well as the misfortunes of dealing with the physical side of the disorder, they may also have to deal with the implications of experiencing an anxiety attack.

Unfortunately, sufferers of such diseases may find that the world is not as understanding of their hardships and such is the baffling nature of modern society. The problems suffered will frequently be ridiculed by the more fortunate. The implications of which will surely cause the condition to become more of a burden to the sufferers.

For the majority of sufferers, anxiety sweating has no such treatment as the ones normal society takes for granted. This accentuates that fact that anxiety sweaters have little to no relief from their misfortunes. Although they may find solace in therapeutic measures as a good alternative treatment, most will find that regular antiperspirants do not work. Some may even turn to extreme procedures such as surgery in a desperate attempt to rid the effects of anxiety sweating.

Despite all of the negativity associated with the subject, anxiety sufferers have hope in therapy as it has helped many sufferers to deal with their issues. In some cases, it has been shown that simply learning to deal with the situation of experiencing an anxiety attack can help to reduce anxiety sweating problems. This may prove to be sufficient for the plagued victims of the anxiety sweating disorder.
